** I NEED SOME HELP HERE!!!**. HELP! MORE PHOTOS, STORIES, MEMORIES, MOMENTOS NEEDED!!!!!!!
I never met my Uncle Paul and have no recollection of Aunt Minnie, although I’m pretty sure I met her.
In all honesty, during my 20 years growing up, we rarely saw any of our relatives. To this day, I am not sure why that was. I have the impression that was not the case at all when my two older brothers, Mike & Pat Clock, we’re growing up. I say that because I heard about a number of instances when so and so …(Clock or Collins) visited or stayed at our house for a while. I also have the impression that Dad (Charles Lewis Clock) fairly often did meet up with many of the relatives when he was flying around the U.S. on bakery business. Maybe I’m wrong on both counts, but I doubt it. I do know for a fact that it was a pretty rare year, when I was growing up, that we saw even one relative …from either side of my family. It still puzzles me.
Probably that has a lot to do with me doing so much research on the Clock family over the past 25 years. I’m not really sure. But it’s probably an effort to get to know them, these important people in my extended family, and to know my parents better …especially now that they are gone. But I don’t feel all that is a huge hole in my life, but it is a hole none the less. To my knowledge, I only met 1 of my 4 grandparents. I’ve probably met less than half of my cousins, at least more than once or twice, during my lifetime. Most, I could say, I don’t really know at all. And I have met perhaps a little over half of my aunts and uncles from both the Clock and Collins sides, more than once or twice ….ever. I still don’t get it …for a family that believed/believes in “family” ….it just doesn’t add up to me.
Paul Clement Clock was the oldest of the 6 children that Wilkie & Margaret Clock (my grandparents) had. Uncle Paul was born in 1907, six years before my dad (Charles Lewis Clock) was …in Ridgeberry, NY. He married Minnie Law, from Langhorn, TX in 1924. Paul & Minnie had Richard Clement in 1941 and Robert Lewis in 1942. Paul died in 1982, in North Carolina and Minnie passed away in 1993, in Winfield, Kansas. That is all I know for a fact.
Here are some photos of Paul & Minnie that I cropped from old ones. They are out of Karon Clock Lemming’s book, “Our Ancestors”, 2012).
